Bio

Elena (she/they) is originally from Massachusetts, and currently based in the SF Bay Area. They work as an actor, fight and intimacy director, director and theatre educator. In their free time they can be found backpacking, traveling, dancing and looking for warmer weather and new adventures.

They have been in love with acting since their first onstage experience at 4 years old playing Eve in a church play. Her first role in a full production was in 9th grade playing Nurse Kelly in Harvey, at Wareham High School. Elena went on to study acting at Northeastern University, graduating in 2002 summa cum laude with a B.S. in Theatre with a minor in Music, and then on to the University of Washington, where they earned their M.F.A. in acting in 2007. They have been a member of Actors Equity since 2009, and are a company member of Playground SF and an associate artist at Marin Shakespeare Company.

Since 2017 they have been working as an intimacy director after having trained with IDI, then IDC, completing Levels 1 and 2, and earning the consent-forward artist certificate. They have also trained extensively with TIE. They have also been teaching and choreographing stage combat since 2010, and are a certified teacher through Dueling Arts International.

As an educator and director, they have worked all over the Bay Area, most recently at Redwood High School, and College of Marin.
